Jayne Soakell recently completed an MA in Illustration at Arts University Bournemouth. Since then she has been living and working in Hampshire and recently exhibited at Forest Arts in New Milton. "My recent work explores the spectacle of Venice-it’s decaying facades,subtle light and the teeming life of the waterways.
My illustration and printmaking is the distillation of drawings made in situ, directly from the subject. I take inspiration from life around me; the everyday drama, the atmosphere and the character of places and people."
