We are very excited to announce that a new group will be launching in Christchurch on September 12th 2016. Since Boscombe Life Drawing Group was begun in 2008 life drawing has taken off in a big way. I don't think that it has much to do with the Boscombe group (we're good but not THAT good!) but more a revival of practising the skills of observation and drawing that life drawing instils. Life drawing took a bit of a knock in the eighties and nineties at art schools and fell out of favour for a long time. But now it is very popular again. Life drawing concentrates the eye and in doing so concentrates the mind. One of the things I love most about running life sessions is the true mix of abilities of the artists that attend. From complete beginners to very experienced artists there is something for everyone and I would encourage beginners to come along and see for themselves that life drawing is fun. We are a relaxed and friendly group and there is no pressure to be great! We don't judge your work - we are ALL here to improve.
